Christian initiation is accomplished by three sacraments together: Baptism which is the beginning of new life; Confirmation which is its strengthening; and the Eucharist which nourishes the disciple with Christ’s Body and Blood for their transformation in Christ.
The Sacrament of Baptism is the basis of our whole Christian life. Through Baptism we enter into the mystery of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are freed from sin, reborn as children of God, and become members of Christ Body, the Church.
Infant Baptism
You have been called to be a Catholic Christian parent. The community of Saints Mary & Joseph Collaborative knows how special it is to be chosen and called to this responsibility of raising your child in the practice of the faith.
When any of us is called by name it is a sign of a relationship. When the relationship is close, we instantly recognize the voice of the one who calls. As Jesus says, he is the Good Shepherd and his sheep follow him because they recognize his voice.
As a parent, your voice is recognized, in particular, by your child who is to be baptized. Are you ready to accept this responsibility? Will you accept this invitation to enter into a special relationship with your child? Are you willing to share your own gift of Faith, your own experience of God? Will you walk with your child on the journey of Christian faith? Are you ready to teach and raise your child in the Catholic faith? Will you continue to pray for your child as their Catholic faith develops?
Come and celebrate the sacrament of Baptism. Come celebrate the calling forth of your child into the flock of the Good Shepherd, into the family of God, the Catholic Church.
Please use the online giving link to donate the suggested $50 to cover your child's baptismal supplies and services. https://stsmaryjoseph.org/online-giving Please select the church you are chosing to have your baptism, follow the prompts and select "baptism" within the form.
